Trailer Process • Editing Examples

Here is an example of an existing trailer, which has inspired my own work. Here The Strangers trailer uses fast cuts and jumps between short shot lengths to show the danger that this couple are in. I think this trailer is really relevant to my own work as it features a male and female protagonist who are haunted by an unknown person and are fighting to be together. The 'jumpy' sounding music and quick sharp editing speed reminisces the way in which I shall hopefully edit my own trailer for the final cut.
I think that the way they use the old film style works well with my news report, and gives the trailer a unique sense of branding.
